Drove through doors of house while over limit
Dumfries and Galloway Standard
|November 28, 2025
A drink-driver crashed through the patio doors of another man's home before phoning him and saying:"Just wait until you see your house!
-
Lee Saunderson, of Main Street, Crossmichael, jumped in his Mercedes while he was more than twice over the limit after the man phoned Saunderson's wife and asked her to go outside and speak to him.
Dumfries Sheriff Court heard yesterday how the woman refused, telling the man Saunderson was getting in his car and thought they were "having an affair", before hanging up on him.
When the man drove off, Saunderson got in his own car and drove to Kiteview at Lauriston to confront him. When he realised the man wasn't at home, Saunderson reversed through the patio doors of the house before phoning the man on Facebook messenger.
After "shouting and swearing" at him, he then said: "Just wait until you see your house."
