IT WAS a sister act for Ashford & District Road Running Club as they had siblings taking on both the Manchester and London marathons on Sunday.

Marathon sister act for Ashford & District Road Running Club's siblings

In Manchester, Vicky Spicer ran her first ever marathon and a great first half was met with extreme heat, and despite hitting a wall at mile 20, she came home in a very respectable 4:47:08.

Kelly Gammon, not to be outdone by sister Vicky had a blast of a day in Manchester.

With the intention of not going for a personal best marathon time, Gammon was able to enjoy the atmosphere even more, ran through the hose showers and tried to high five as many people as possible in a great time of 4:16:09.

Also running for Ashford & District was Lauren Aldred, who managed a 14-second PB with a fantastic time of 3:26:46 to finish in the top 200 for women, and in the top 20 in her age category.
