CITY INDIAN CELEBRATING 15 YEARS - AND MAKING OUR SHORTLIST

- By OSCAR FISHER

A DERBY restaurant that prides itself on a warming, family-friendly atmosphere has lifted the lid on trade secrets as it celebrates 15 years on one of the city’s busiest streets.

Previously named by more than 1,300 Derby Telegraph readers as the county's best Indian restaurant, The Spice Lounge in Friar Gate has gone from “strength to strength” according to general manager Kerron Miah - who travels to Derby every day from Walsall with his family.

The Spice Lounge specialises in traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, but the 40-year-old owner says its all crafted “with a modern touch”.

“Our menu features everything from mouth-watering tandoori dishes to rich, aromatic curries, all made using time-honoured family recipes,” Kerron said.

“Whether you prefer something mild and creamy or bold and spicy, we offer a variety of options to suit every taste - all freshly prepared to order. The atmosphere at The Spice Lounge is warm, welcoming, and full of heart. We're known for our friendly, attentive staff who treat every guest like family.”
