BRITAIN'S most famous jacket potato seller has lashed out at Derby City Council after failing to set up a pop-up event in the city centre.
Spud Man, whose real name is Ben Newman, shared a video to his 1.9 million Facebook followers last week, pleading for help after holding unsuccessful talks with the authority.
He says he's been trying to organise a potato pop-up in Derby "for a little while now" but has had "absolutely no luck" with the council, citing high costs and administrative issues.
Spud Man became an overnight TikTok star in 2024, capturing the hearts of foodies on the internet with his mouth-watering jacket potatoes served to eager customers - often with toppings rarely seen on an everyday spud.
