BRUNSWICK BOSS MEETS SEEING DOG AFTER CHARITY PINTS

The team at the Brunswick Inn in Railway Terrace has long been a supporter of charities around Derby, but the most recent venture could be the most impactful yet.

Pub boss Alan Pickersgill, who took over the corner pub more than a decade ago, decided to raise funds for national charity Seeing Dogs Alliance back in 2023 after noticing his pub had become popular among the visually-impaired community.

To coincide with the pub's annual beer festival , which ended on Saturday, the pub's brewing arm, The Brunswick Brewing Company Ltd, launched a new beer.

‘Double Vision’ was hatched, with 10p from each pint going to Seeing Dogs Alliance.

The golden ale seemed to be the perfect fit, with most seeing dogs expected to be golden labradors - but there was a twist in the tale (or, in this case, tail).

Once a few pints were poured and funds were raised, the team realised that the dog wouldn't be a golden Labrador, but a black one instead.
