DEVELOPMENT WAS STRONGLY DISPUTED BUT WAS APPROVED AFTER 4-DAY INQUIRY

New images reveal how controversial 90-home city estate could look

NEW images of a proposed 90-home Derby estate have been revealed - just months after the site was the centre of an intense planning inquiry.

The images mean the hugely controversial development off land at Royal Hill Road in Spondon has moved a major step closer to construction.

Developer Miller Homes and its representatives have submitted a “reserved matters” application relating to the site to Derby City Council.

It comes after a Planning Inspectorate allowed the development to go ahead after a four-day hearing was heard at the council’s headquarters despite many objections raised.

A reserved matters application details more information based on the approved outline plans. This includes details, for example, of how the development will look, the layout of homes, roads and other features.
