CONSTRUCTION FIRM IS SET TO MOVE HQ TO FORMER SITE OF WELL-KNOWN FAMILY BUSINESS
A NEW two-acre development is set to transform part of Derby's historic former Albert Looms scrapyard.
The Spondon site was vacated last year by the well-established family business, which had been operating for more than 100 years.
In mid-July, it was confirmed that city-based developer Ivygrove Developments Ltd had acquired the sprawling site, announcing plans to rename it Looms Business Park.
Now, a design-and-build agreement has been reached for a 25,000 sq ft headquarters facility for Whitehouse Construction to be built on the seven-acre site, subject to planning permission.
The civil engineering firm is set to move from its current headquarters in Ashbourne once the works are completed.
