Four in five motorists back use of alcolocks to hit drink-drivers - survey

FOUR in five UK motorists (82%) would support the introduction of alcolocks for people convicted of drink-driving, a new survey suggests.

The RAC, which commissioned the poll, said drivers are “very keen for something different to be done” to combat the issue.
Alcolocks are devices which prevent a vehicle from being started or driven unless the motorist passes a breath test.
They are used in countries inlcluding Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands and the US - in return for shorter driving bans.
