Bowyer on cup memories ahead of Brackley battle

GARY Bowyer has been reminiscing on his FA Cup memories as he prepares to take his Burton Albion side to Brackley Town on Monday night.

Albion will be hoping to avoid a cup upset and book a juicy third round draw.

Speaking to BBC Radio Derby, he recalled: "My earliest memory was I think it was the 1979 final, Arsenal vs Manchester United 3-2 when Alan Sunderland scored the winner.

"But it's the one competition my dad never won. So two European cups, league title, league cups, charity shield, cup winners cup, he'll kill me if I've forgot one!

"So from a little bit of banter in our house, it's the one little small thing that I can give him a little bit back! But obviously he comes back with everything that he did win.
