Amissah thinks he's ready for Albion now

JORDAN Amissah cuts a confident and contented figure in his first interview with the Burton Albion website.

Although the goalkeeper made only three appearances in his loan spell from Sheffield United in 2023, his presence was clear enough.

Amissah was prominent and supportive around the group, with a clear sense of fun.

Although born in Germany, there is virtually no trace of his home country in his accent - if anything, a loan spell in the northeast with Spennymoor Town seems to have informed some of his intonation, along with his three years with Sheffield.

None of that, of course, will matter on the pitch and it will be interesting to see if he has been brought in with the intention of being first choice.

At 23, he clearly feels more ready for the opportunity after a successful spell of 20 matches for Ross County in Scotland, the first regular senior football of his career.

"I'm delighted to be back," said Amissah in an interview on the Brewers' website.
