BEESLEY AND WEBSTER ON TARGET AT VALLEY PARADE

- By DAN NEWBOULD

BURTON Albion's amazing away form continued with a fantastic 2-1 win at high-flying Bradford City.

Despite the difference in league positions - City were second before and after the game but the Brewers had dropped down to 20th owing to Reading's win over Stevenage on Thursday night - the away fans travelled in their numbers and most importantly in anticipation as well as hope after their recent form on their travels.

And that continued thanks to goals from Jake Beesley and Charlie Webster towards the end of the first half.

A Bobby Pointon penalty threatened to derail plans and might have given harrowing flashbacks to recent Yorkshire away days where they blew two-goal leads to Barnsley (3-2 loss) and Rotherham (2-2) as recently as last Tuesday night.

But this bunch are made of much sterner stuff and there needn't have been any worries about that this time around.

For such a young group, they don't half learn and grow and listen to everything Bowyer says and instils in them.

It now means they have won at Cardiff, Bradford and Wimbledon and taken points at Rotherham, Huddersfield and Doncaster.

As the club X account succinctly put it immediately after the game: "Albion win away". And that's exactly what they do. It's as simple as that.

It is no longer a surprise any more and it is certainly not a fluke. If teams aren't aware and are not prepared for it then it is their problem.

Burton boss Gary Bowyer said his side were "outstanding" after the game.
