Macassar lady, 60, charged with assault after video of an attack on a seun with disabilities goes viral

THE woman seen in a deeply disturbing video showing the assault of a boy with physical and intellectual disabilities in Macassar has now been charged with assault.

The footage of the attack went viral last week, showing the boy being smacked in the face by a man inside a residential property. It sparked national outrage.

The woman, aged 60, who is heard encouraging the man to throw the boy out, has since been arrested and charged. Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said she was warned to appear in court on 27 January.
