THREE PEOPLE DIE IN PHILIPPI VUUR

THREE people died during the ealry hours yesterday morning when a a fire erupted in the Kosovo informal settlement in Philippi.

ANOTHER TRAGEDY: Community reeling in shock

The incident was reported around 3am when at least six structures caught fire and were destroyed, leaving 14 people displaced and three people dead.

Spokesperson for the City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services, Jermaine Carelse, confirmed the incident, explaining: “The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at around 3.05am this morning, 6 October, of informal structures alight in Kosovo Informal Settlement, in Philippi.”
