STELLENBOSCH FC secured their place in the MTN8 semifinals with a dramatic 3-2 extra-time win over AmaZulu at Cape Town Stadium yesterday, thanks to a decisive goal from former Usuthu winger Langelihle Phili.
The 20-year-old academy graduate came off the bench to score in the 108th minute, sealing the victory against his old span in a fiercely-contested quarterfinal.
AmaZulu struck first in the 19th minute when debutant Keagan Allen scored from a well-worked set-piece. Stellenbosch responded quickly, with Devin Titus setting up Sanele Barns for to equalise just seven minutes later.
