Stellies and Zamalek draw
Daily Voice
|April 03, 2025
STELLENBOSCH FC and Egyptian giants Zamalek drew 0-0 in the first leg of their Caf Confederation Cup quarter-final at Cape Town Stadium yesterday.
Stellies' midfield didn't provide Zamalek's playmakers, such as Zizo, any space to unleash their trickery and skill.
In fact, it was Stellenbosch that created the best chances to open the scoring in the first half.
Andre de Jong went down in the box and immediately protested for a penalty, but although VAR is in use for Confederation Cup matches, the referee's decision was not reviewed.
