Police raid suspended cop Sibiya’s home

COPS yesterday raided geskorste Deputy National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya’s home.

National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said: “There are investigations that are ongoing as publicised and mentioned at Parliament's ad hoc committee and the Madlanga Commission into alleged political interference within SAPS.”

No arrests were made.

Sibiya has recently been thrust into the spotlight following serious allegations by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

Mkhwanazi claimed that Sibiya, suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, and others are part of a syndicate obstructing police operations in South Africa.

Sibiya hit back at SAPS, saying: “If the police want to arrest me, it must be done fairly.”
