PAYDAY weekend was woes for the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement.
Last weekend say traffic officers make 99 arrests of which 30 were for driving under the influence - a more than 90 percent rise on the previous weekend, according to City officials.
The City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre (PECC) also recorded 147 assault incidents.
The PECC recorded 1 782 incidents over the weekend including 59 motor vehicle and pedestrian accidents, 91 domestic violence incidents.
