|April 02, 2025
OVERCOME Heights was rocked by another murder yesterday morning as gun violence flared up in the informal settlement again.
This brings the number of fatalities in the area to four confirmed deaths since the beginning of last week with authorities pointing to a conflict between taxi organisations and gangs as the driving force.
According Muizenberg Community Policing Forum spokesperson Wayne Turner, detectives are investigating the latest shooting.
While no arrests have been made for the murder, police spokesperson FC van Wyk reports that while SAPS were on the murder scene, a man in possession of an illegal firearm was vasgevat.
