Simmonds produced a gevaarlike bowling display to put Western Province firmly in control on day two of their four-day series clash against the Tuskers in Pietermaritzburg yesterday.Spinner Simmonds claimed 5/39 in 20 overs as the hosts collapsed to 148 all out in response to WP's first-innings of 290.
His efforts were backed by Tshepo Moreki with two wickets, while Dane Paterson, Josh Breed, and Mbulelo Dube each added one to complete a dominant bowling performance.
The Tuskers’ innings was held together by Sean Whitehead, who top-scored with an unbeaten 46, while Kagiso Rapulana and Ntando Zuma contributed 33 each.
