Mayor calls for probe into Prasa rail security corruption claim linked to 'gang boss' Stanfield
CAPE Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has called for the immediate suspension of Prasa officials and the blacklisting of companies allegedly linked to accused gang boss Ralph Stanfield, following an investigative report into security contracts on the city's rail reconstruction project.
An investigation by amaBhungane alleges that Stanfield and his wife, Nicole Johnson, positioned companies linked to them as security subcontractors on Prasa's multibillion-rand Cape Town Central Line presidential reconstruction project.
According to the report, the main vehicle involved - Mzansi Securifire - received about R600 million in contracts related to the central line between 2022 and 2024.
