Daily Voice
|March 13, 2026
UNITED States and South Africa relations hit another low this week as the new Ambassador to South Africa, Leo Brent Bozell III, faced calls for his expulsion from Mzansi, while US-based expatriates made their way back home.
'PERSONA NON GRATA': Ambassador Leo Bozell III
International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola confirmed that Bozell had been called in to explain his anti-diplomatic comments in public.
This comes after Bozell made remarks during his attendance at a BizNews conference in Hermanus on Tuesday, where he made remarks about the "Kill the Boer" chant.
He had said: "I'm sorry; I don't care what your courts say. It's hate speech."
Lamola slammed Bozell's remarks, saying they were unacceptable.
