BRONZE KEELY HAS BLAST AT S**TSHOW OF YEAR
KEELY HODGKINSON lambasted a “s**tshow" of a year after injury and illness combined to condemn her to World Championships bronze.
The Great Britain star, 23, looked set to complete a rare haul of titles and add to her Olympic and European golds from last summer when she led down the final straight.
However, she ran out of steam in the last 50 metres and was beaten by Kenya's shock winner Lilian Odira and teammate Georgia Hunter Bell (inset together).
The British pair dipped for the line at the same time and a photo finish was needed to show Hunter Bell FROM CHARLIE BENNETT in Tokyo snatched silver by just one hundredth of a second.
Odira broke the longstanding championship record as she won in 1:54.62 from Hunter Bell in a personal best of 1:54.90 just ahead of her great friend.
