Frank's flops booed off as Brobbey stuns home crowd

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

THOMAS FRANK'S timid Tottenham were booed off their own pitch after the same old story back home in the New Year.

Ben Davies had been set to be the unlikely hero when the Wales defender scored the opener on his first start to the season.

At that stage, the Europa League winners had overtaken Sunderland and climbed into the top 10 in the Premier League table.

But the Black Cats dominated the second half and were rewarded when Brian Brobbey lashed home an 80th-minute equaliser.

Regis Le Bris's side are now five games unbeaten after holding Manchester City and now Spurs in their last two outings.

It is their longest run without defeat in the topflight since a streak of six under Sam Allardyce in 2016.

Spurs have now got one win and two draws from their last three games. But the north London club - with the motto To Dare Is To Do - have never been just about the stats.
