EX-CAPTAIN'S VJ TRIBUTE HAS CHARLES IN TEARS
THE King and Queen appeared to shed a tear as a war veteran paid tribute to Charles' cancer battle at a VJ Day memorial ceremony.
Yavar Abbas, 105, went "off script" to salute his "brave King" at the national service of remembrance in Staffordshire.
It marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day which signalled the end of World War Two.
Charles and Camilla joined PM Sir Keir Starmer and 33 veterans aged 96 to 105 who served in the Far East and the Pacific during the six-year conflict.
Mr Abbas, who was a captain in the 11th Sikh Regiment, took to the stage at the National Memorial Arboretum to read extracts from his diaries during his time in Burma.
