GIT MAKER (2.50) looks capable of a bold show in the Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow today.

The Jamie Snowden-trained nine-year-old is a stout stayer well served by soft going and this prize has been a long-term aim.

He is a notoriously slow jumper, having forfeited lengths jumping to his rivals in all eight of his starts in our database.

However, that is factored into his handicap mark, and his jumping over hurdles at Lingfield last month, having been off eight months, was slicker than anything we have seen from him before.

A Jump Index score of 7 out of 10 is good for him.

Soft ground holds the key to him showing his best as it’s easier for him to keep in touch, even if he jumps slowly.
