SHAUN MURPHY is trying to conquer snooker’s Crucible marathon — but will miss his girlfriend running the London version on Sunday.

'The Magician', 42, raced into the second round of the World Championship with a convincing 10-4 victory over debutant Daniel Wells.

But his last-16 clash will start at 10am on Sunday, just as partner Jo begins her run for the Stroke Association.

“I would have loved to have been down there supporting her,” said Murphy, the 2005 champion.
