Bolt joy as Seville shreds rivals

USAIN BOLT danced in the stands of Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium as Jamaica finally reclaimed a global men’s 100m crown.

Since the fastest man in history called time on his career in 2017, the Caribbean nation has been starved of men’s sprint success, but Oblique Seville changed all that.

The 24-year-old delivered a personal best of 9.77secs to take World Championship glory ahead of compatriot Kishane Thompson, with American Olympic champion Noah Lyles only third.

Seville has work to do to catch Bolt’s world record, but he's restored Jamaica to the top of the sprinting tree.
