JAY Slater told pals he had "stolen" a £12,000 Rolex watch and was trying to sell it before he vanished, a TV investigator claims.
Mark Williams-Thomas, inset, says mates of the teen revealed he had sent them a Snapchat message confessing to the theft.
The ex-detective said Jay, 19, made the claim while travelling to an Airbnb with two British men in the early hours of June 17.
