Returning Cath's a good Bet to be Rovers icon
Daily Star
|October 20, 2025
CATH Tyldesley is nervous as hell about being the new landlady of the Rovers Return.
The TV favourite has reprised her role as Eva Price on Corrie and this time she's getting her name above the door of its famous boozer.
It means following in the footsteps of legends including Julie Goodyear, who became a TV icon playing Bet Lynch.
Doing that is a very big deal indeed. In fact, you couldn't blame Cath for wanting a stiff drink.
She says: "I remember watching Corrie as a kid and thinking, 'God, I would kill to be landlady of the Rovers one day... how cool would that be?'
"There have been so many great landladies over the years. It's what Corrie does so well.
"It's had all these strong women. Look at Bet Lynch... even people that didn't watch Corrie back then know who she is.
"These are big boots to fill. They're bloody big boots!"
Getting to be a Corrie landlady is a role most actresses can only dream of. When Cath was told it was happening to her, she was stunned.
