RED DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS FOR HOLLAND

United's new coach is tough, demanding, meticulous and doesn't suffer fools gladly... cross him at your peril

STEVE HOLLAND is not a coach to be messed with.

Having worked with some of the biggest stars in the game, he takes no prisoners when it comes to reputations and egos.

And his attention to detail has become the stuff of legend.

Just ask Arsenal defender Ben White.

During the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, White was part of the England squad preparing for a group stage game against the USA.

Former Three Lions assistant manager Holland was less than impressed with White's attitude when he decided the fullback didn’t share the same obsession with football he had - or expected.

One barbed comment towards the Gunners star, which is understood to have been made in front of teammates, left White (below) so upset he asked to go home.

Which he did, with Gareth Southgate's blessing.

The 28-year-old has never pulled on an England shirt again.

Southgate wanted him to, but White refused the invitation.
