PEARCE: ISAK SAGA HAS HIT BUM NOTE AT TOON
Daily Star
|August 20, 2025
STUART PEARCE says he feels Newcastle fans’ pain over the Alexander Isak saga.
The former England left-back spent a dozen years at Nottingham Forest before moving to St James’ Park in 1997, where he had a couple of seasons playing in front of the Toon Army.
Following three years on Tyneside, where he’s scored 62 goals in 109 games, Isak has been itching for a move this summer to Liverpool, who have seen a £110m bid turned down by manager Eddie Howe’s club.
But with the Sweden striker (inset) having been held out of the opening game of the season at Aston Villa on Saturday, supporters have been venting their anger as the situation continues unresolved, something that will get more heated when Liverpool travel to Newcastle on Monday night.
Pearce said: “I’ve played at Newcastle. I'm really disappointed in him.
