40kg dog rescued after climbing to top of Scafell Pike ..and refusing to come down again
MOUNTAIN rescuers spent a “ruff” night with Dexter the dog after he staged a sit-down protest.
The 40kg doberman-Belgian malinois cross trundled up Scafell Pike in the Lake District with his owners.
But near the summit, he decided he had gone far enough, sat down and refused to move.
As darkness fell and Dexter showed no sign of relenting, mountain rescue teams had to be scrambled.
