O'REILLY HAS MIDAS TUCH
-
THOMAS TUCHEL doesn't act like an England manager who is in it for the long haul.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
And the FA are to blame for this, having handed him a short-term contract when choosing him to replace Gareth Southgate.
The choice smacked of short-term thinking. A desperation resulting in FA chief executive Mark Bullingham closing his eyes and keeping everything crossed that Tuchel would somehow win a World Cup in North America next summer.
But when Bullingham opens them again, the chances are he will see England heading home, having not reached the tournament’ final stages.
And what happens then?
Tuchel goes away, richer than he was, but none the wiser when it comes to solving the greatest puzzle in English football.
