FEARS of a measles emergency are growing as the biggest outbreak in more than a decade takes hold.

Almost 900 cases have already been recorded this year, according to the UK Health Security Agency. That is a huge increase on last year's figure of 368.

Experts have warned vaccine uptakes are too low to keep the virus at bay.
