Pollock's a surprise choice as Itoje bags captain role
HENRY Pollock’s spectacular rise to rugby’s summit continued as he was named in Andy Farrell’s British & Irish Lions squad to tour Australia.
Flanker Pollock, 20, is one of 38 stars selected by Farrell but the head coach left out experienced men such as son Owen and England's Jamie George.
Maro Itoje has been named captain as he embarks on his third tour, becoming the first Englishman to lead the Lions since Martin Johnson in 2001.
He said: “It feels amazing. I'm deeply honoured, humbled and I'll do my best to do the role justice.
“I'm very much looking forward to the challenge ahead, it's going to be a great tour.
