Edgy boyfriend's made me outcast

MY partner resents my success. In the past couple of years, I’ve overtaken her in terms of salary and status.

She always used to be the superstar but now I'm the one earning the big bucks. Any time I try to discuss my work and challenges, she snaps: "What have you got to worry about?"

Then shes rants about how much she hates her job.

I accept she’s had bad experiences (being made redundant twice and relocated to a horrible area) but I consider us a team and find it galling that she’s so dismissive of my achievements.

JANE SAYS: I agree you are a team, so maybe you should make more of an effort to support your partner in her career. If she’s unhappy, under-appreciated and displaced, what are her options? How can you help her find a better position?
