Eze to see why this is a golden chance to end long title wait as Arsenal win ugly

- BY JOHN CROSS

EBE READY GUNNERS

THESE are the sort of victories that win you titles.

And if you throw in the Eberechi Eze fairy tale, then it was a brilliant weekend for Arsenal as they won and most of their title rivals lost.

It was surely written in the stars for Eze to score the winner - and the former Crystal Palace hero duly delivered with a spectacular scissor kick. Eze is so popular that he even got applauded off by the Palace fans when he was substituted, which was a classy touch.

It was a scrappy, ugly game lacking in quality with Arsenal hanging on at the end after failing to take opportunities to make the game safe.

Instead, it finished "1-0 to the Arsenal" and it was fitting that former Gunners manager George Graham was in the directors' box, because you can be sure his famous back four would have approved of another impressive rearguard action.

Arsenal have conceded just three goals all season, keeping 10 clean sheets in their 13 games and even when defenders went off injured they had reinforcements.
