Nunez warned he's in for 'dog's abuse' from Norwich fans after £10m switch to Old Farm rivals

- BY JASON MELLOR

MARCELINO NUNEZ has been warned to expect ‘dog's abuse’ after becoming the first player to cross East Anglia's great divide for almost 25 years.

The Norwich midfielder has joined the Canaries’ bitter rivals Ipswich in a controversial £10million move that has stunned fans across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Chile international Nunez spent three seasons at Carrow Road, scoring 12 goals in 86 starts - including the winner in the most recent ‘Old Farm’ derby in April 2024.

The Championship rivals meet at Portman Road at the start of October and Andy Marshall - the last player to move directly from Norwich to Ipswich in 2001 - warned the 25-year-old he is in for a hot reception from Canaries fans both home and away.
