Duo confronted parents outside home, trial told

MADELEINE McCann’s mum had to wrestle her way into her home as a woman claiming to be her missing daughter fought to stop her shutting the front door, a jury heard.

Julia Wandelt, 24, had lain in wait outside with pal Karen Spragg in a darkened car “like private investigators” until the family returned, it was alleged.

Polish Wandelt was convinced she was the girl who vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007 aged three, Leicester Crown Court was told.

As Madeleine's mum Kate emerged from her car she was confronted by Wandelt demanding a DNA test, it was said.
