Breakthrough therapy hailed as 'astounding'
KIDS who were born deaf are listening to music and dancing after pioneering gene therapy.
They are among five patients given the world-first treatment which works by replacing the faulty DNA which causes a type of inherited deafness.
Two girls and three boys gained hearing abilities in both ears and were able to speak words and locate where a sound was coming from.
