Slot's 'kick up the backside' lifts striker for vital week
ARNE SLOT says Darwin Nunez is back - and he’s just in time as Liverpool face “three finals in a week”.
The Anfield supremo believes today’s game against Southampton, the return leg of the Champions League last-16 tie with Paris St-Germain and Sunday week's Carabao Cup final against Newcastle are all vital to the club's season.
And Nunez is expected to play a key role after Slot gave the striker a public kick up the backside.
He criticised Nunez’s work-rate after the Wolves and Aston Villa games and demanded more from the Uruguay star.
Slot feels Nunez answered his challenge when he laid on Harvey Elliott's late winner in the 1-0 triumph over PSG in France on Wednesday night.
