CENE STEALER: Gary Carroll and Cercene hold off hot favourite Zarigana in the Coronation Stakes

LITTLE cracker Cercene slammed the door shut on Zarigana to break punters' hearts in the Group One Coronation Stakes on day four of Royal Ascot.

Bundles of cash had filled the satchels of bookmakers after early hotpots Signora and Shadow Of Light went out with a whimper.

"This is 50 years of work by the family," said Murphy, who trains 30 horses down the road from Aidan O'Brien's stable of champions.

"We buy horses and believe that they are going to be good. It is a lifetime’s ambition to have a Group One winner.
