RAPIST: Brückner was jailed

- by JERRY LAWTON, Chief Reporter

THE prime suspect in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance will walk free from jail in three weeks.

Christian Brückner will be released on September 17 at the end of a seven-year prison sentence he is currently serving for rape, officials have said.

Lead prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters believes the 48-year-old is responsible for Madeleine's disappearance from her family’s holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007 when she was three.
