AI takes an-udder job - but at least farmers get a lie-in

FARMERS can look forward to a lie-in thanks to robot cow milkers.

Dairy farmer Bryan Carter has deployed two bots to take care of his 200 Holstein Friesians.

Rather than being milked twice a day at 5am and 3.30pm, the cows wander into an automated stall whenever they feel like it.

The robot feeds them a snack while a metal arm reaches underneath and attaches pumps to their udders.

Bryan, 37, said: "They love the robot.

They are incredibly happy in that shed.
