Blonde is now bland

MY girlfriend has stopped dyeing her hair peroxide blonde. It now looks mousy and bland. I’ve told her I don’t like it — it suggests she’s stopped bothering for me, but she won’t budge.

She says she’s sick of visiting the hairdresser every five weeks. She says she feels freer now, but I take this move as a slap in the face.

How can I take her to my swanky work events when she looks as dreary as a church mouse?
