Bitter brother bother

MY brother is bitter and resentful. He can't stand the fact that I live in a bigger house and earn more money than him. He's rude to my husband and ignores my children.

I feel obliged to invite him and his partner round for family meals, but they're an ordeal with him making stupid comments all the time.
He exhausts me but I feel responsible because our parents died years ago and I'm his big sister.
