BANNED DIAMOND DEFENDS C-WORD RANT

NEWCASTLE FALCONS boss Steve Diamond was banned for the rest of the season for sensationally calling officials the c-word and urging one of them to retire.

Diamond (left) was hit with a six-game suspension last week after an investigation into events following Falcons’ 17-15 Premiership defeat at Exeter on March 29.

His side were beaten in the last minute by a Greg Fisilau try, but the director of rugby was left fuming by what he viewed as Exeter foul play in the lead-up to the score.
