'Dodgy keeper' Carey can't wait for Barmy wind-ups

BACK IN BAIRPIT

AUSSIE villain Alex Carey is preparing for another verbal assault from the Barmy Army Down Under.

Wicketkeeper Carey sparked ugly scenes at Lord's after getting Jonny Bairstow out stumped during the second Test in 2023.

Carey threw down the stumps after Bairstow wandered out of his crease believing the ball was dead (above).

Bairstow was given out and Australia captain Pat Cummins chose not to withdraw their appeal, prompting outrage among the home crowd and MCC members at Lord's.

A hostile atmosphere remained in place for the rest of the series and Carey is expecting the same again when the Ashes get underway in Perth on November 21.
