Pep tells old guard to grab last chance of Euro prize

PEP GUARDIOLA knows some of his ageing stars will be drinking in the last-chance saloon in Madrid tonight.

And he has called on the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and Bernardo Silva to show the courage required if Manchester City are to avoid drowning their Champions League sorrows.

City head to the Bernabeu under the cosh like never before, with their European hopes hanging by a thread.

City trail Carlo Ancelotti’s European kings 3-2 from the first leg of a play-off to see which one of these giants will make it through to the knockout stage.

Something has to give – and Guardiola appreciates it could be the last chance for some of his 30-somethings to win the biggest club prize of all on behalf of the English champions.

Guardiola is expected to overhaul his squad in the summer and said: “It will be at the end of the season (if we lose).
