WIN THEORY FOR AYR FEATURE

Daily Star Sunday

|

July 06, 2025

THERE are many reasons why THEORYOFEVERYTHING (3.30) can land the feature Summer Mile Handicap at Ayr this afternoon.

There is plenty of rain around at the West of Scotland track and on the top of good to soft ground | think we will race on a genuinely soft surface come race time.

That will suit any number of the nine runners and Look Back Smiling (declared for the 6.12 at Carlisle tonight) could turn out again and run well on his preferred surface. Gemma Tutty’s charge has a fair record when turned out quickly again.

However, logic will tell you he is not a certain runner and the top weight is just given the nod over a previous Lincoln Handicap hero.

The charge of David O’Meara (right) is three from 17 on turf and all of those victories have come on a soft surface, the last of which was at Ascot in a class two event last September off a 2lbs lower mark.

His comeback run at Haydock Park behind Great Chieftain was hugely promising and he should take a step forward for that outing.
